Congratulations to Cycle U clients Eric Buckmaster & Brenna Johnson for taking the plunge in today's triathlon season opener, the Arbor Schools' Issaquah Triathlon! It was a bit cold in the early hours, but ended up with the best weather of the day for the race.
Brenna had a stellar swim, as expected, and was out of the water at the front of her AG. Her bike is getting a lot stronger, and we're still workin' the run. This was Brenna's first co-ed triathlon.... in other words, her first non-Danskin tri. Swim 00:07:26.5, T1 00:02:22.2, Bike 00:48:27.7, T2 00:03:01.7, Run 00:32:57.7, Finish 01:34:15.8. Way to go Bren!!
Eric achieved a PR over last year's time, despite loosing a spoke halfway through the bike course and dealing with a wobbling wheel all the way back to T2. Swim 00:08:41.6, T1 00:02:39.1, Bike 00:44:15.2, T2 00:01:27.9, Run 00:25:22.4, Finish 01:22:26.1. That's a 5-minute PR over last year!! Your coach is proud :)
